’Three months before saboteurs bombed the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline, the Biden administration learned from a close ally that the Ukrainian military had planned a covert attack on the undersea network, using a small team of divers who reported directly to the commander in chief of the Ukrainian armed forces. Details about the plan, which have not been previously reported, were collected by a European intelligence service and shared with the CIA in June 2022’, The Washington Post claims, referring to intelligence leaks called Discord Leaks.
According to The Post, the US could not confirm the accuracy of these allegations, but its Central Intelligence Agency shared the report with Germany and other European countries.
Netherlands’s public broadcaster in its recent report said that the Dutch military intelligence service warned the CIA last year about an alleged Ukrainian plan to blow up the Nord Stream pipelines three months before they were hit.
German law enforcement officials investigating the bombing of the Nord Stream have learned more new information, e.g. the Ukrainian individual who informed the European intelligence service in June said that six members of Ukraine’s special operations forces using false identities intended to rent a boat and, using a submersible vehicle, dive to the floor of the Baltic Sea and then damage or destroy the pipeline and escape undetected. In addition to oxygen, the team planned to bring helium, which is recommended for especially deep dives.
Investigators have matched the remnants of explosives found on the pipeline to traces found inside the cabin of the yacht, called Andromeda. And they have linked Ukrainian individuals to the rental of the boat via an apparent front company in Poland. Investigators also suspect that at least one serviceman of the Ukrainian military was involved in the sabotage operation.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied that Ukraine had any involvement in the explosions at the Nord Stream gas pipelines.
Commenting on recent media reports about the alleged plan of the Ukrainian military to destroy the Nord Stream pipelines, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that ’Nothing of the sort has been done by Ukraine’. (…) If our military is supposed to have done this, show us proof’’, the president emphasised. The top adviser to Zelenskyy Mykhailo Podolyak referred to the idea as an ’amusing conspiracy theory’.
Just great! It turned out that, despite all the previous accusations and denials, it was Ukraine and not Russia that blew up the underwater gas pipelines. Ukraine’s supporters do not seem to pay attention to this tiny little fact and when an analogous disaster happened with the Kakhovka HPP, the same supporters again blame Moscow, again using the same well-tested double standards.
Zelenskyy is not an innocent little boy, as I have repeatedly stated. The West does not understand Putin and, cannot understand Zelenskyy either. Western leaders are convinced that Zelenskyy is better than Putin. It is time for them to wake up. Or read my articles! 😊
